About European Faux Masters

Uros Humek was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. When he was 15 he went on a trip to Italy and was fascinated by the finishes of the buildings there. About 3 years later he took a course on European Plasters, and after the course he started plastering for his friends and family and slowly made a business out of it.

He visited America in 1995 and decided to stay. However, he had a hard time continuing his business here because he knew very little English. So he put his dream on hold and got a job, where he met his wife, Gaura.

Gaura was born in Belgium and moved to America when she was 10. In 2000 Gaura’s parents had a problem with their walls and Uros suggested to apply one of his texture finishes to help hide the problem. After seeing the amazing job he did, Gaura insisted that he teach her and restart the business.

 

In 2003 Gaura took a course on faux finishes where she was trained in using special paints that create the most amazing finishes.

 

And so they have combined their talents together and come up with European Faux Masters.
