Italian Plasters
Venetian Plasters are considered by most people
in the USA as a faux finish. The word faux means fake, but there
is nothing fake about the Venetian Plasters we apply.
Even though
we know many different faux finishes, we truly love the Italian Plasters.
If you have every been to Europe, you know that a faux finish cannot
match the beauty of Venetian Plaster.
In Venice, it was impossible
to use marble, being too heavy for a city built on wood poles. Heavy
building materials were used only as far as they were functional
to the bearing structure of the building. So they ground up the marble
and used the dust to make Venetian plaster. In that way, they still
had the marble without the heavy weight.
Using historical techniques
of application, we bring true Italian & European tradition into
your home. We have 20 different plasters to choose from -- they are
very durable, making many of them applicable on the exterior as well.
Not only do these plasters bring beauty and tradition into your home,
but they are environmentally friendly and non-toxic. We specialize
in true Italian Plasters. These are not faux finishes but traditional
methods, which date back thousands of years in Europe, from rust-colored
farmhouses and moss-coated castles to creamy-colored villas. Now
you can own a piece of European history in your home.
Our plasters
are imported directly from Italy. We carry the plasters Italians
ask for by name, Safra, which are the finest plasters in the world.
These products are applied with a special trowel technique and a
technical skill to achieve the desired look, ranging from smooth
high polished finishes to the rough Tuscany feel.
